Wang Zhigang,minister of science and technology,has called on Chinese scientists and companies to better facilitate the development and ethical use of artificial intelligence.
3月5日上午，科技部部长王志刚在十四届全国人大一次会议首场“部长通道”上表示，希望中国的科研人员和企业在人工智能领域能够有更多的好成果。同时还要注意，怎么样规范科技伦理，趋利避害。

nducted years of research in natural language processing and understanding,the technology that made ChatGPT possible,Wang said on the sidelines of the first plenary session of the 14th Natio
nal People's Co
ngress in Beijing on Sunday.
王志刚表示，中国在自然语言处理和理解方面进行了多年的研究，正是这项技术使ChatGPT成为可能。
"Whether it is Chinese or foreign companies,we hope more people can create better products in the field of artificial intelligence,"he said."But at the same time,we have to pay attention to scientific and technological ethics and try to take advantage of the technology while avoiding its downsides."
王志刚说：“我们也希望，中国的企业也好，国外的企业也好，大家在人工智能领域能够有更多的好成果。同时，我们还要注意，怎么样规范科技伦理，趋利避害。”
Wang said China proposed an eight-item principle on AI governance in 2019 that encourages the safe,fair and respo
nsible use of AI.
王志刚说，我国在2019年首先提出人工智能治理方面的“八项原则”；鼓励安全、平等和负责任地使用人工智能。
In addition,China has developed several application scenarios for AI,such as smart ports,to facilitate the commercialization of AI technologies,he said.
我国近期还推出了智能码头等若干个示范
应用场景，推动人工智能转化应用。
Wang said he hopes AI can co
ntribute to China's socioeco
nomic growth,and also that Chinese researchers and companies can co
ntribute to the global development of AI.
王志刚表示，希望人工智能能为中国经济社会发展作出贡献。他也希望从事人工智能研究、转化的大学、科研院所、企业为推动人工智能发展、为国际社会作出中国贡献。
